PARAMUS, N.J.—Robert Olson Sr., 74, formerly of River Edge, died Thursday, Nov. 19.
Before retiring, Olson worked for Hannon Floor Covering in Newark as a flooring installation specialist. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church in Paramus, a member of the Carpenters Union Local #2212 in Edison and in the Paramus Fire Company #2 where he served as department chief in 1984 and 1992.
Olson was the cherished husband of the late Gertrude Olson (née Dinse); the loving father of son Robert Olson Jr. and his wife Barbara of Monroe, N.Y.; and Evelyn Olson; and the devoted grandfather of Connor, Carly and Christopher.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 S. Farview Ave., Paramus. The funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church, 234 N. Farview Ave. There will be a private cremation.
